This week’s theme for the photo hunt is free. This picture is from the National Zoo in Washington DC of the baby panda. It is from 2006. The National Zoo is free to all. It really is a great zoo. We spend a lot of time there in the summers since it is free and my son’s loves it.

I’ve been there on vacation trips….the zoo itself needs a lot of work…….but oh the view of the pandas….yes!!!!!!

Aww, what a cutie, just hanging around. We’re hoping to go to Washington DC this summer, maybe we’ll stop by the zoo!

My son lives in DC so he took me there. We tried to see the panda up top: nothing. Went down below: nothing. I have better luck with a panda cam! So I know how fortunate you were to see it!

Aw, isn’t he a cutie pie? It’s hard to imagine that a free zoo exists in this day and age. It begs the question “how do they pay to maintain the animals and grounds?”

Nice to have places that don’t charge, so that the kids can see their world. When I was little I never knew there were real pandas!
