Thankful Thursday

Thanks to Iris at Sting My Heart for hosting Thankful Thursday.

Since we will be moving in a couple of months I have been cleaning things out. Finding a new home for things we don’t need and boxing up things to keep. I am thankful for the Freecycle program that allows me to find people that need what I am giving away. I know the items are going to good home to be used by people that really need it.

I am also extremely thankful for the warmer weather we had yesterday and today. It allowed me to get the kids out for a little awhile. We were suffering from a bad case of cabin fever.

Also everyone we seem to know has a cold. I am thankful that so far our family has been the exception. We are all healthy and safe.

Thankful Thursday

It’s Thursday evening and I am just now getting a chance to post the things I am thankful for.One thing I am especially thankful for this week is that we had a day of above freezing weather. I think the kids and I were getting cabin fever! I can’t wait until warmer weather comes to stay.

I am thankful that the Lords keeps my life busy. I would go stark crazy if I didn’t have things to do. I hate being bored and having nothing to do.

Please visit Sting My Heart for other Thankful Thurday particpants.

P.S.  I’m looking for a good book about being a Godly wife.  Any suggestions?

Thankful for my Grandmother
ttbutton.jpg

Today especially, I am thankful for a Christian, God-loving, Bible reading Grandmother. She called me up this morning to tell me about what she had read this morning. She is doing a program through her church to read the Bible in a year. She is in Genesis where Noah gets drunk and his sons cover him up. She called to tell me she knew she had read this passage a ton of times in the past, but this time she got something new out of it. I feel blessed to have a Grandmother who still reads the Bible and is excited to share it with me. She is also my prayer partner. Last week I mentioned my prayer journal. A lot of the items that go into my prayer journal are things my Grandmother asked me to pray for and I know she prays for me all the time. She calls a lot to just pray together over the phone. When I moved away from home 5 years ago, I was worried that that relationship would fade, but it hasn’t, its just changed a little.

Praises for 2007

ttbutton.jpg

With 2007 over with, they are so many things to be thankful for.  I keep a prayer journal and always mark off when a prayer was answered and date it as well.  I went back to look over it for the past year and I was amazed at the goodness of God.  Almost of the prayers had been answered one way or another.  Maybe not in the way I wanted, but they were answered.  Some I had not marked as answered, but as I thought about it they really were, just not in an obvious way.  So I am very thankful that God answers prayers!

I am also thankful for the Lord keeping my family safe from harm and healthy.  Allowing me the ability to quit my job and become a stay at home mom.  The wonderful blogs out there that have helped me become more organized, get on a budget, and those that do bible studies and devotionals.  They are all uplifting and encouraging.

I can’t wait to see what the Lord will do in my life and my families’ life in 2008!

Things to be thankful for…

This week’s Thankful Thursday is being hosted by Laurel at Laurel Wreath’s Reflections. Be sure to go visit all the participants and see how God is pouring his blessings out.

I know I say this almost every week, but there is just so much stuff to be thankful for.

First off I am thankful for swaptree.com. This is an online book/cd/dvd swap. I got a book off of there called The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian. I just started this book 2 days ago and I have already gotten such a blessing out of it. It encourages praying for your children, which I already do. However, the book gets specific! The author recommends prayers for things I would have never thought but my kids definitely need prayer for. I can’t wait to finish reading the book.

I am also thankful for my second week of being a full-time stay at home mom. We are still adjusting, me from not going to work and the kids from not going to daycare. But we have been having a great time together and that is what matters.

I am thankful that in 2 1/2 weeks I will be traveling to Texas for 3 weeks to visit with family. I’ll already praying for a safe trip and an opportunity to do God’s work while traveling.
