The Joys of Being A Boy

My son has been fully potty trained for about 3 months now.  Only the occassional accident.  Even sleeps through the night in his big boy underwear.  We taught him how to potty sitting down.  Thought it would be easier to teach him everything the same way at first.   Imagine my surprise earlier this week when my son announced he had to go potty and I had to go with him, not only did he potty but he pottied standing up.  I have no idea where he learned this from, not me and my husband said he didn’t show him.  Of course, I told him how great he did and now he tells everyone, and I mean everyone, that he can pee standing up now.

The negative side, now he thinks he is suppose to poop standing up as well.  Ugh!

Going Home

For the past 3 weeks, I have been back home at my parent’s house in Texas. I’ve been driving back and forth between Texas and Oklahoma, looking for a house and getting ready for our big move from Maryland to Oklahoma, which is next week. We have found a house and are scheduled to close on April 23. I’m so excited. This will be our first home, no more apartments for us!

Being back at my parents has brought back a lot of memories. My parents live a block away from Lewisville Lake. I remember many a summers walking down to the lake to go swimming or just to hang out with friends. I was so happy when we arrived in Texas to find that warm weather had arrived and I got the chance to take my kids down to the lake. While it wasn’t warm enough to go swimming, we did get to walk around and explore. The kids had a blast. Here are a couple of pictures:

Grandpa is the one in all the pictures with the kids. My daughter was mad in the third picture because we wouldn’t let her in the water. Overall we had a great time and create a lot more memories.

Things You Find While Doing Laundry

LaundryPrincess woke me up at 6:00am this morning like normal and I decided I would start laundry. I know, that is too early to do laundry, but I have a reason. I live in an apartment building and the building shares 2 washers and 2 dryers. The only time they are not in use is in the early morning hours.

So I am half asleep and pulling clothes out of the hamper and putting them in the washer and what do I find about half way through:

a shoe (I had been looking for that shoe all week!),

a toy car (no biggie),

and a fork. Yes an eatting utilinsel. I have no idea how a fork got from the kitchen to the back bedroom and in to the closet and put in the dirty clothes hamper. I think the Spirits came (because according to Superboy only Johnny and him can see the Spirits) and decided to play the “Let’s Make Mom Think She Is Going Insane” game.

What out of place things have you found in the hamper?
