Motivation Needed

I haven’t posted my weigh-ins lately because I haven’t been happy with them.  I can’t seem to get motivated.  I am hoping that posting my weigh-in today that will help me some.  It is one thing to see the number another thing to type it and put it up for the world to see.  So my weigh-in today is 216.  I’m also looking for a blog group to join that encourages each other through their weigh loss challenge.  Any suggestions?  I have found some, but not any that I really felt I could become a part of.

I am also going to make myself a challenge.  My goal this month is to lose 5 pounds.  If I don’t, I will send a blog reader who leaves a suggestion or encourging word on this post $5 through paypal.

Here are some ways I am going to fit some extra exercise in my daily routine with the kids:

  1. Dance with the kids
  2. Go for walks in the neighborhood
  3. Play hide and seek and/or tag
  4. What at the park walk on the nature trails

One Hundred Pushups Challenge

I found the One Hundred Pushups Challenge from I’m A Drama Mama’s blog and thought it would be a great way to get some exercise in my life and help on the 30 Day Weight Loss Challenge I’m currently participating in.

Why pushups?

Push ups are one of the basic and most common exercises for the human body. Push ups are not only great for your chest, but do a tremendous job of defining your abs, triceps, shoulders and torso. Push ups can be performed no matter where you are, and best of all, they are completely free - no expensive equipment or annual gym fees required! If you’re looking to develop a great chest and shoulders, you could do much worse than follow along with the hundred push ups plan. Your core strength will also go through the roof too!

I took the inital test the challenage encourages you to do and I could only do 5 measly pushups. Only 5! I was really surprised, I thought I could do more than that.  So starting Monday I will start the challenge and hopefully by the end I will be able to do 100 pushups.  I will also post my progress with my weight-loss updates on Wednesdays.

30 Day Challenge Weigh-in #1

Today was the first weigh-in for the 30 Day Challenge at the The Domestic Diva.  My beginning weight is 218lbs and my goal is to be under 200 at the end of the 30 days.  Wish me luck!

30 Day Weight Loss Challenge

30daychallenage

The Domestic Diva is having a 30 Day Weight Loss Challenge and the prize is a Senseo Coffee Maker and a Cash Pot. All you have to do in put up $3 and start losing weight! The first weigh in is tomorrow.

I was so sad when Tales from the Scales closed down because that was my source of accountability. So when the site closed, my weight loss journey ended too. I am hoping this 30 Day challenge will get me back in the journey and will only be the start to successful weight management.

I has also joined Wellness 360 in order to keep track of my weight loss, exercise, and eating habits.

Weigh-In 3/5/08

Today the scale read 206.5lb. That’s .5 down from last week. I haven’t loss any real weight since before Christmas. On the plus side, I have a new motivation. My high school 10 year reunion is coming up in September. I can’t wait to see everyone! Since I moved to Maryland I have really lost contact with a lot of my old friends and am hoping to revive a lot of those lost friendships when we move in May.

I didn’t exercise this past week and my water consumption was very low. So my goal for this week is to get back exercising in the mornings!
