Motivation Needed

I haven’t posted my weigh-ins lately because I haven’t been happy with them.  I can’t seem to get motivated.  I am hoping that posting my weigh-in today that will help me some.  It is one thing to see the number another thing to type it and put it up for the world to see.  So my weigh-in today is 216.  I’m also looking for a blog group to join that encourages each other through their weigh loss challenge.  Any suggestions?  I have found some, but not any that I really felt I could become a part of.

I am also going to make myself a challenge.  My goal this month is to lose 5 pounds.  If I don’t, I will send a blog reader who leaves a suggestion or encourging word on this post $5 through paypal.

Here are some ways I am going to fit some extra exercise in my daily routine with the kids:

  1. Dance with the kids
  2. Go for walks in the neighborhood
  3. Play hide and seek and/or tag
  4. What at the park walk on the nature trails

The Joys of Being A Boy

My son has been fully potty trained for about 3 months now.  Only the occassional accident.  Even sleeps through the night in his big boy underwear.  We taught him how to potty sitting down.  Thought it would be easier to teach him everything the same way at first.   Imagine my surprise earlier this week when my son announced he had to go potty and I had to go with him, not only did he potty but he pottied standing up.  I have no idea where he learned this from, not me and my husband said he didn’t show him.  Of course, I told him how great he did and now he tells everyone, and I mean everyone, that he can pee standing up now.

The negative side, now he thinks he is suppose to poop standing up as well.  Ugh!

Graduating from Medical School

Johns Hopkins Medicine

With our move from Maryland to Oklahoma and buying our first home the fact that my husband graduated from medical school kinda slipped by.  So last night we had a party celebrating my husband’s graduation from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.  ( I don’t have pictures yet, my mother-in-law took them and I don’t have copies yet)

I can’t express how proud of my husband I am.  Medical school is no easy task.  It was not how I would of like to have spent our first years of marriage, but it taught us a lot.  We learned how to live on little money, appreciate the things we did have (which was very little),  and how to schedule our time together.

I’m excited to start this new part our lives and can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for us now in Oklahoma and my husband as a new Resident.

Fun Photos From the Weekend

For the Memorial Holiday Weekend we traveled to Texas and spent a couple days with my parents, brother, uncle, and grandparents.  We had a great time.  It had been so long since we have been able to spend any holiday other than Christmas with family.  Now that we are in Oklahoma we can just zip down to Texas whenever we want.  I’m so happy!

So here are some photos from our great weekend.

5 Things About This Mom

The rules of this meme are very simple, just post five things about you.  So here are 5 things about me I’m sure you never knew.

  1. While I enjoy the occasional chick flick, I love horror/thriller movies.
  2. I went for over 2 weeks without internet connection and discovered I had an addiction, an Internet Addiction, and more specifically a blogging addiction.
  3. I hate rap and hip-hop music.  I don’t understand the pleasure in listening to it.
  4. There are 20 years between my mom and her mother and 20 years between my mom and me.  No way was I going to continue that tradition.  There is 26 years between me and my daughter.
  5. My best friend from high school lives in Washington state and just had a new son.  I miss her like crazy and wish I could go visit her and the kids.
