An award and things about me

Project Mommy has awarded me the Excellent Blog Award. It’s my first award and I’m thrilled! From Project Mommy’s blog about the award:

I have greatly enjoyed blogging these last few months. I have received many heartwarming comments, I’ve read touching stories, and I’ve laughed at jokes you’ve written. I love being a part of the blogging community and part of all the friendships that I’ve formed so I wanted to give a blog award for all of you out there that have Excellent Blogs.

I feel the same way. The blogging community is something special. It has something nothing else does - everything goes. It doesn’t matter what your background is, what race you are, what religious preference you have, everyone in the blogging world has a voice that can be heard without fear.

I am suppose to share the award with others so here are some (not all) of the blogs I think are excellent:

In other blogging news - I realized I hit over my 100th post. This is actually my 104th post. So in keeping with tradition here is 100 things about me:

3. I was born and raised in Texas
4. I have 1 brother who is younger than me
5. I am married to a medical student
6. We have been married for 5 years
7. My husband is 2 years older than me
8. I have 2 kids
9. A boy who is 3
10. and a girl who is 1
11. I have a dog named Skittles
12. She is a basset hound
13. I got her from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania
14. She lets my kids climb all over her without batting an eye
15. If Skittles would have been male instead, I would have used the name Snickers
16. I currently live in Maryland
17. but will be moving at the end of April
18. and have no idea where we will be moving to
19. I love reading
20. my favorite book is The Time Traveler’s Wife
21. I am currently reading a book called Act of God, which I am not enjoying but refuse not to finish it
22. I got a bread machine this weekend and made my first of loaf of bread yesterday
23. I love high school football
24. My high school mascot was a farmer named Big John
25. and my high school won the football State Championship when I was a junior
26. I was in the marching band in high school
27. I played the trombone
28. I was horrible at it
29. I met my husband while attending college working at a hotel
30. Out first date was putt-putt golf and dinner at Chili’s
31. We got married on my grandmother’s birthday
32. and moved to Maryland 3 months later
33. My son, Superboy, was born 8 weeks early
34. I had to have an emergency c-section
35. My daughter has born full term
36. but I still had a c-section to fix problem from the first c-section
37. So even though I have had two 2 children, I have never been in labor
38. I just recently had my gallbladder removed
39. and anesthesia makes me really really sick
40. I love all kinds of movies
41. even horror
42. some of my favorite moves include The 5th Element,
43. The Notebook,
44. The Lord of The Rings series,
45. Grease,
46. and The Shawshank Redemption
47. My biggest pet peeves are leaving the kitchen cabinet doors open
48. and not picking up after yourself
49. My first job was working at a pizza place that my best friend’s mom owned
50. My second job was at Lil’ Things, a baby store that has since closed
51. Then I worked at Office Depot until I went to college
52. After college I worked at a elementary school in Plano, TX as the technology person
53. then I went to work at ControlDOCs in the IT department while I attend Arlington Baptist College
54. I worked at ControlDOCS until I moved to Maryland
55. In Maryland in I have only had 1 job
56. that was as a legal assistant to a blind lawyer
57. that job required a lot of patience
58. now I am a stay at home mom
59. it has been the most challenging and most rewarding job I have ever had
60. I was so excited when in my second pregnancy I found I was having a girl
61. because it meant I would be able to watch Care Bears
62. and Rainbow Bright
63. and Strawberry Shortcake without being teased about it
64. I think the Teletubbies is the most annoying kids show ever
65. and The Wiggles is a close second
66. so of course, Superboy, loves both
67. My favorite color is blue
68. my favorite song is Master I See by The Kingsmen Quartet
69. I am a born again Christian
70. I got saved when I was 15
71. at youth camp in Texas, I always loved going to youth camp
72. I attend Arlington Baptist College in Arlington, TX for awhile before moving to Maryland
73. but never got my degree
74. I love teaching Sunday school
75. at one point I created the weekly church bulletin
76. and the church website
77. I keep a prayer journal
78. my grandmother is my prayer partner
79. I loved the book Power of a Praying Parent
80. and highly recommend it
81. I don’t smoke
82. I don’t drink
83. I love anything to do with technology
84. I think golf is very boring
85. I want to visit Australia
86. and Europe
87. and Africa
88. I want to take my kids to Disneyland
89. I have been on 2 missions trips to Mexico
90. both were incredible and eye opening
91. I love Taco Bell
92. and hate McDonalds
93. I can never get enough Mexican food
94. I want at least 1 more child, maybe 2
95. I loved peanut butter
96. and chocolate
97. my favorite cookie is a peanut butter, chocolate, oatmeal cookies my grandmother makes
98. my favorite dessert is cheesecake
99. but my husband hates it
100. I thank God daily for everything

Whew! That is hard to do! Now I’m pooped!
