Thursday 13 - Texas

I moved to Maryland from Texas about 5 1/2 years ago. It was a culture shock to say the least. Everything was completely different. 5 1/2 years later we have become accustomed to the ways of Maryland but I can not wait to be able to moved back to Texas. I sure do miss it. So, in honor of my home state, my Thursday 13 is all about the greatness of Texas!
13 Things I Love About Texas!
- The wide open spaces
- Texas has beaches, deserts, and everything in between, even mountains
- Everyday is a great day for a cookout regardless of the weather
- Tex-Mex Food!
- Barbecue
- The Alamo
- No state income
- The Dallas Cowboys (even despite last week’s lost)
- Texas used to be it’s own country
- High School football
- The winters - what winters?
- My family lives in Texas
- People are friendlier than people in Maryland

I moved to the Dallas area earlier this year. I know where some good barbecue places are, but where is the good Tex Mex. I am grasping at straws you might not even live near Dallas, but you mentioned the Cowboys. Happy TT.

then there’s my brother and his wife that live in Dallas and my new niece or nephew that will be born in January…
Enjoy…

Yep, Texas is a wonderful place. I agree. I wouldn’t mind moving there, but I think my family wouldn’t care for that. Have a great TT.

I’m not from Texas or even in Texas, but dang I totally agree with the Tex-Mex food. Yum!

Texans are allowed to go on like that. I feel the same way about Florida, but when I say so, people just laugh!

I’m Texan….and I’m one of the lucky ones living on the beach. But I got a kick out of the Dallas Cowboys —Jessica Simpson, stay home!!!!!!!!
Happy 13ing.

This is not a lame-o TT!
I miss Texas, a lot, but sadly even Texas isn’t large enough to contain both me and my stepfather and his daughter. So I live in Ohio.
When we moved from Austin to Missouri about 15 years ago, it was quite the culture shock! I can so relate!
Happy holidays,
Lori
